Sunday service, August 10 – Bearing Witness

Continuing our Preaching Along the Potomac watch party series, we will visit the UU Church of Annapolis via livestream for a service entitled “Bearing Witness,” led by Zen practitioner Bob Ertman. This sermon introduces the three tenets of the Zen Peacemakers: Not Knowing (giving up our fixed ideas), Bearing Witness (not looking away), and Right Action (the actions that should arise naturally when we really pay attention).

Bob is a retired federal attorney and lives in Annapolis with his wife, Phyllis; together they facilitate a Mindfulness Practice Group at the UU Church of Annapolis.  Bob is also a retired teacher of One Heart Sangha, a community of individuals practicing Zen meditation in the Silver Spring metro area.

Our services are more casual for these viewing events, but please come to share your joys, concerns, and fellowship with our community.

Remote attendees, you should join the Annapolis service directly at the link immediately following (from the UU Annapolis website). After the service, please join UUFSM at the link further below.
