This week continues our summer viewing series, in which we join other East Coast congregations via Zoom for shared worship. Partway through each service, we’ll step out of the broadcast to share our local Joys and Concerns and to take up our Offering, keeping our familiar touchstones of care and generosity at the heart of our time together.
We will visit the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster PA to hear a service led by Linda Kinney. The service description notes, “if Jesus would have taught what we have come to know as the Lord’s Prayer, he would have spoken it in Aramaic, a language rich in multiple meanings. Linda Kinney studied 3 1/2 years with Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz, teacher, author, scholar, musician specializing in the Aramaic Jesus and the traditions of the native Middle East. Linda will take us on a journey through the Aramaic version of this prayer.”
